NAVSUP FLC Norfolk Awards Tactical Communications Group BOSS Sustainment Contract

Tactical Communications Group has received a sole-source contract from the Naval Supply System Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk to provide BOSS software sustainment for the Joint Staff Joint Interoperability Division-Training Center.

Commonly used for training purposes, the BOSS system is a datalink software that allows the JID-TC to design, build and transit simulated J-series message scenarios when conducting joint tactical data link training, according to a justification notice posted on SAM .gov.

The government opted for a sole-source contract as TCG is the only firm that licenses, maintains, and provides training on the BOSS software. According to the notice, the contract has a one-year performance period – from July 1, 2024, until July 30, 2025 – with work to be performed at a government facility in Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

In addition to providing sustainment services, the vendor will also offer a three-day onsite training at Fort Liberty on using the BOSS software.

In 2019, Curtiss-Wright acquired TCG under a $50 million deal, integrating it into its defense business and expanding its existing flight test instrumentation capabilities.
