Navy Capt. Anthony Saxon Takes Reins of DISA Joint Interoperability Test Command

U.S. Navy Capt. Anthony Saxon has assumed leadership of the Defense Information Systems Agency Joint Interoperability Test Command, succeeding Capt. Robert Matthias after a change of command ceremony at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, earlier in August.

JITC is responsible for testing and validating interoperability among defense information systems to facilitate communication and collaboration between military platforms and units.

During the ceremony, Saxon said his approach would involve building upon past accomplishments and facing future challenges and opportunities.

He emphasized that the command serves an important role in ensuring that soldiers receive proper support on the field.

Saxon was most recently the command, control, communications, computers and intelligence assistant chief of staff for the Navy’s 3rd Fleet. He was responsible for the service’s strategic communications centers and supporting Task Force 124, DISA said Friday.

According to Saxon’s LinkedIn profile, he previously served as commanding officer of the Naval Communications Security Material System and a policy analyst at the U.S. Cyber Command.
