Navy to Solicit Proposals for MIDS WDL SF2 Radio Procurement
The Naval Information Warfare Systems Command has announced its plan to post a request for proposals in the third quarter of fiscal year 2024 to develop and procure National Security Agency-certified Multifunctional Information Distribution System Weapons Data Link Small Weapons Attritable Family 2 Radios.
NAVWAR intends to award an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a five-year ordering period to multiple contractors. The planned IDIQ will require systems engineering and integration sustainment and development support for the MIDS WDL SF2 terminal, according to a presolicitation notice posted on SAM .gov.
A request for information posted in December 2023 indicated that the proposed procurement effort might include multiwaveform support, software control of modes, operational availability, airworthiness and spectrum certification, and cryptographic enhancements, ExecutiveGov reported.
According to the RFI, the anticipated contract will be a follow-on to a WDL SF2 delivery order awarded to Data Link Solutions under the existing MIDS Joint Tactical Radio System contract.
