New Cubic Collaboration to Develop Interoperable Tactical Radio Solution
Cubic’s DTECH Mission Solutions, Instant Connect Software and Rally Tactical Systems are combining their hardware and software offerings to deliver a new tactical radio interoperability product aimed at supporting U.S. and allied military communications. Anthony Verna, senior vice president of Cubic’s DTECH segment and a 4×24 member, explained that the collaboration will provide warfighters with mission-critical radio over internet protocol capabilities, adding that the technology integration could drive “even greater” interoperability and security.
The joint product incorporates Instant Connect’s push-to-talk platform built on Rally Tactical Systems’ Engage Engine into Cubic’s RoIP radio gateway product lines. It is said to feature a translator that can automatically convert input from any language, potentially facilitating multilingual missions.
Instant Connect CEO Forrest Claypool said his company’s PTT solution is certified by the Joint Interoperability Test Command and is included in the list of Department of Defense Information Network-approved products.
The solution will be featured at the Special Operations Forces Week event from May 9 to 11 in Tampa, Florida, Cubic said Friday.
