Newly-Appointed IRS Chief Technology Officer Takes On Second Role as Interim CIO
Kaschit Pandya, the chief technology officer at the Internal Revenue Service, will begin performing the duties of the tax agency’s chief information officer in an acting capacity in addition to his responsibilities as CTO.
Jeff King, the acting CIO at the IRS since March, will vacate the role in the coming weeks to return to his deputy CIO position at the Department of the Treasury. He was selected to serve the IRS after Nancy Sieger, the agency’s former CIO, stepped down to assume the position of CTO at the Treasury Department, Nextgov reported.
Pandya joined the IRS over a decade ago. Before he was appointed as CTO earlier this week, he spent over three years serving as the agency’s deputy CIO for IT operations. Pandya also held other executive roles, including as deputy CIO for filing season and tax reform and as director of infrastructure services, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Prior to joining the IRS, Pandya was the director of IT operations at financial and global information services company Gerson Lehman Group.
