Octo, Kingfisher to Support DOD’s Teleport Satellite Communications Gateway
Octo and its prime partner, Kingfisher Systems, have been selected for the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Teleport Program Integration and Implementation, Logistics and Configuration Management Support contract.
The potential five-year $14 million deal was awarded under the General Services Administration Information Technology Professional Multiple-Award Schedule, Octo said Tuesday.
The Department of Defense’s Teleport system serves as a satellite communications gateway that connects warfighters to the military’s global network.
Kingfisher will support the effort by providing program management, configuration management, information management, life cycle logistics, and implementation and integration services, Octo said.
James Vant, general manager of Octo’s defense business unit, said the contract will help DISA keep up with evolving technology and provide worldwide support to warfighters.
“With Kingfisher, we combine our operational and subject matter expertise to deliver state of the art modernization,” Vant added.
Octo CEO Mehul Sanghani said his company will contribute by applying cutting-edge technology to critical satellite communication.
Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, Octo is a provider of technology solutions in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, blockchain, cloud, data science and software development.
Work will be done at Fort George Meade in Maryland, DISA Headquarters Campus, DISA Field Command locations and Department of Defense Gateways, Kingfisher said in its press release.
Kingfisher CEO Roy Reed said his company will provide the technology refresh and technical insertion services that DISA needs to keep up with the DOD Teleport system’s changing technology needs.
Kingfisher is a Falls Church, Virginia-based defense company that supports the government’s economic security and national security missions.
