SBIR contract extension
OmniSync Secures DOD Contract to Continue Developing TurboInnovative Platform
The Department of Defense has awarded San Diego-based technology research and development company OmniSync a two-year Small Business Innovation Research Phase II contract extension to expand its support capabilities across the U.S. military.
OmniSync will develop its TurboInnovative platform to ensure that all military branches benefit from artificial intelligence-enabled research impact analysis capabilities. The contractor will also use its AI models and databases to help the Defense Technical Information Center and the DOD community understand investments, overlaps and the potential of R&D projects.
The Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering issued the contract, OmniSync said Thursday.
The SBIR Phase II extension was awarded after OmniSync won an SBIR Phase Phase II contract from the Department of the Air Force’s AFWERX program in June 2022. Under the AFWERX contracts, OmniSync was tasked to build and deploy its R&D platform.
OmniSync is also supporting R&D programs outside the U.S. military. In January, the Department of Energy awarded the company a five-year contract to build the agency’s SBIR and Small Business Technology Transfer partnering platforms.
