Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for Government Receives FedRAMP+ Authorization

The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program has granted Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for Government a FedRAMP+ authorization. The designation allows Oracle to offer the OCI for Government platform to the Intelligence Community.

The OCI for Government platform provides federal agencies with various infrastructure and applications, such as the Oracle Cloud VMware Solution and the Oracle Exadata Cloud Service, to support federal agencies. It supports agencies with open data standards, stringent security measures and architectures that are powered by embedded artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Achieving FedRAMP+ authorization means OCI meets additional security requirements on top of the FedRAMP High status for defense and intelligence agency systems, Oracle said.

The solution is designed to protect data and applications from the compute, network and storage levels up to the hardware level. It uses built-in tenant isolation, least privilege access, automated protection systems and encryption systems.

Glen Dodson, senior vice president of Oracle’s national security group, said the company continues to invest in commercial cloud innovation and parity to allow the Department of Defense and the IC to run their missions securely through its systems. Rand Waldron, vice president of the company’s global government sector, said Oracle’s government clients rely on OCI to migrate and manage workloads in the cloud.

OCI is available in the FedRAMP marketplace.

FedRAMP ensures that commercial cloud offerings are safe for government use.

Oracle offers various cloud applications and infrastructure to private and public sector clients. It is headquartered in Austin, Texas, and has multiple offices within and outside the U.S.
