Raytheon Intelligence & Space to Sponsor US Cyber Games
Raytheon Intelligence & Space has been named a founding sponsor of the U.S. Cyber Games & Team event.
Jon Check, executive director of Raytheon Intelligence & Space’s Cyber Protection Solutions unit, said programs like the U.S. Cyber Games are essential in developing cybersecurity talent for the future. He added that the program aligns with the company’s cybersecurity mission.
The sponsorship is part of RI&S’s 10-year, $500 million Connect Up initiative, which is designed to support organizations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, the U.S. Cyber Games said.
The U.S. Cyber Games offers sponsorship opportunities at multiple levels for teams that focus on developing cybersecurity solutions. It takes on an e-sports or gamification process to cybersecurity where participants compete in various tournaments centered around cyber defenses.
The program is designed to apply the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education framework to identify, assess, select and form what would be the U.S. Cyber Team, which will participate in global cybersecurity competitions.
The U.S. Cyber Games is led by Katzcy, a Virginia-based, woman-owned small business that specializes in cyber games and e-sports, marketing automation and other digital marketing and digital services. It works with the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education program.
Raytheon Intelligence & Space has been sponsoring various STEM organizations, such as Girls Who Code, FIRST Robotics and NAF, through Connect Up. Through the program, Raytheon aims to advance life-long learning in STEM, provide resources to military families and veterans and address social welfare and develop a more equitable and secure future for the next generations.
