Red River, Cisco Launch Suite of Collaboration Tools

Red River and Cisco have jointly launched an integrated collaboration infrastructure designed for voice and video calling, messaging and mobility.

The Unified Communications-as-a-Service offering is powered by Cisco's Unified Communications Manager Cloud and UMC Cloud for Government, Red River said Thursday.

“This alignment of partnerships between Red River and Cisco brings a new level of excitement to both companies, as we bring modern, secure and flexible collaboration tools to market," said Red River Chief Technology Officer Tim Rod, a Potomac Officers Club member.

Rod said the UCaaS suite will support the changing collaboration needs of customers from enterprise, government and defense.

UCaaS includes local and long-distance calling delivered by Red River. Red River said it will also deliver tiered managed services for end-user support, system administration and security.

Red River said it will begin immediately offering Cisco's voice and video conferencing, web conferencing, presence and instant messaging technologies through the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solutions for Defense program.

HCS-D provides cloud-based, unified communications and collaboration applications within a virtualized platform under a centralized management system. Red River is authorized to offer HCS-D as a Cisco partner.

Cisco Vice President of Federal Carl De Groote, a POC member, said Red River's use of HCS-D, UCM Cloud and UCM Cloud for Government solidifies the company as a key Cisco partner.

Red River said it has been a Cisco partner for 25 years. The company has been a Cisco Gold Partner since 2008 and holds Cisco master certifications in collaboration and security.
