Rocket Lab Announces Six Subcontractors to Support T2TL-Beta Satellite Development

Rocket Lab USA has selected six companies to support the integration and procurement of payloads for the 18 satellites being developed for the Space Development Agency.

In January, the SDA confirmed awarding a $515 million prime contract to Rocket Lab to build the satellites for the beta segment of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture’s Tranche 2 Transport Layer for launch in mid-2027.

The subcontractors selected to support the spacecraft production are CesiumAstro, Mynaric, Seakr Engineering, Collins Aerospace, Redwire Space and Parsons, Rocket Lab said.

Products that will be delivered through the subcontracts include the Condor Mk3 optical communication terminals, the Tactical Satellite Communications software-defined radio and network encryption system and the Nebula Operations-Vendor Architecture.

The satellites will also feature components built by Rocket Lab such as solar panels, star trackers, reaction wheels and flight software.

The satellite buses used for the T2TL-Beta constellation are based on the spacecraft structure Rocket Lab is developing for Globalstar, SpaceNews reported.
