SAIC to Compete for Interior Department’s Cloud Services Contract

The Department of the Interior has selected Science Applications International Corp. to compete for task orders on its Foundation Cloud Hosting Services II contract.

The FCHS II contract is a recompete of a previous $10 billion contract and holds a potential value of $2 billion over the next decade, SAIC said.

The recompete contract involves delivering essential cloud licenses and support services, including software infrastructure and platform services, hosting application storage, backup, disaster recovery, virtual machines, database hosting, web hosting, development and test environments.

Srini Attili, SAIC’s executive vice president, has expressed enthusiasm about continuing the partnership with the Interior Department. Attili highlighted the award as evidence of SAIC’s expertise and commitment to integrating solutions.

The FCHS II win adds to SAIC’s growing portfolio of cloud service contracts within the Civilian Business Group. Recent wins include a basic ordering agreement with the Department of Agriculture’s STRATUS program and a $1.3 billion contract with the Department of the Treasury.
