SAIC to Modernize TRANSCOM’s IT Systems Under $150M Contract

The U.S. Transportation Command has awarded Science Applications International Corp. a potential five-year, $150 million contract for IT modernization services.

Under the single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Managed Information Technology Services contract, SAIC will modernize nearly all of TRANSCOM’s enterprise IT services and introduce IT-as-a-Service models. Work will ensure that TRANSCOM’s IT products have the latest innovations.

The contract is a follow-on to the Information Technology Service Management program, SAIC said Thursday.

Work will fall under the company’s Enterprise IT and Secure Cloud growth and technology accelerant focus areas.

In September 2022, the company received a $200 million contract to conduct research, analysis and assessments for the U.S. Army Forces Command. This contract is one of several awards from the U.S. military in 2022.

Michael LaRouche, the president of SAIC’s National Security and Space sector and a 2022 Wash100 winner, said the company’s work with the U.S. combatant commands positioned SAIC as a key partner in delivering enterprise IT solutions such as mission enhancements and cybersecurity through zero trust and cloud migration. LaRouche shared that the MITS contract will benefit TRANSCOM’s global mobility mission.

The contract award was issued a month after SAIC secured a separate five-year, $151 million deal from TRANSCOM. Under this contract, SAIC will update the combatant command’s IT networks and help the command operate systems, infrastructure and applications at both classified and unclassified levels.
