SES Space & Defense Wins US Army Satellite Communications Contract

SES Space & Defense will provide satellite connectivity management services to the U.S. Army under a $3.6 million blanket purchase agreement.

The military branch awarded the contract to Global Enterprise Solutions, which was acquired by SES and became part of the space and defense subsidiary in 2022.

Work under the BPA involves the delivery of satellite communications as a managed service to units within three combatant commands, namely the Northern Command, the European Command and the Indo-Pacific Command, SES said Wednesday.

The SaaMS provides end-to-end managed subscription services, including facilitating connectivity to commercial teleports, to streamline the Army’s commercially leased satcom network services.

As part of the contract, SES signed service level agreements, ensuring service availability and committed information rates across service areas. It will also provide the Army with 24/7 access to its Network Operations and Security Center.

“This initiative will further advance the SaaMS service model, enabling the U.S. Army to seamlessly acquire industry equipment and bandwidth to carry out mission success with the integration of new technology,” said David Fields, SES Space & Defense president and CEO.
