VA Awards Sierra7 Privacy Impact Assessment Tracking Contract

Sierra7 has secured the Department of Veterans Affairs’ privacy impact assessment tracking contract.

The PIA tracking contract, awarded by the VA Office of Information Technology’s Privacy Services, is in its third iteration, with Sierra7 winning the previous two contracts. Under the previous PIA work, Sierra7 was able to establish and use Microsoft SharePoint as a centralized platform for privacy threshold analysis and PIA tracking.

The company has consistently achieved a completion rating of over 95 percent on PIA and PTA tasks during the last compliance audit.

The contract supports Privacy Services’ mission to assess privacy risks and ensure that privacy assessments fall within security standards and other federal mandates, Sierra7 said.

The PIA contract adds to other awards the company received for health care support and digital modernization services.

Earlier in December, Sierra7 won a Light Electronic Action Framework program contract from the VA, with the company tasked to advance ditigal modernization efforts. The LEAF program is designed to allow non-technical users to generate custom reports in support of business process digitization.

In June, Sierra7 and AvaSure secured a VA contract to provide telecare services to seven Veterans Health Administration-operated medical centers.
