Technology Modernization Fund Issues Guidance for 21st Century IDEA Act Projects
The Technology Modernization Fund has posted guidance for government agency proposals to modernize online services under the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act.
Signed in 2018, the 21st Century IDEA Act requires executive branch organizations to streamline their websites, transition to centralized shared services and improve customer experience.
According to the notice, the TMF Board is eyeing projects aimed at improving web accessibility and digitizing public-facing forms. The fund’s program management board is expected to support agencies in determining the proper project repayment level and other aspects of the application process.
The TMF is accepting proposals until Sept. 22 on a rolling basis. Submissions after the deadline may still be accepted depending on the availability of funding, Nextgov/FCW reported Wednesday.
In May, Clare Martorana, federal chief information officer, said that the Office of Management and Budget would issue guidance sometime in 2023 on implementing the 21st Century IDEA Act. She emphasized continued partnership with budget authorities on the modernization effort.
