CISA’s New ReadySetCyber Tool to Offer Tailor-Fit Cybersecurity Solutions

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency plans to launch in early 2024 its new ReadySetCyber tool, designed to help organizations learn their cyber risks and guide them onward to cybersecurity assistance from the agency.

According to a CISA blog post by Sandy Radesky, associate director for vulnerability management, released on Tuesday, public comments will be solicited on questions regarding ReadySetCyber to help the agency ensure that the tool’s solutions are tailor-fit to specific needs.

The new tool will offer a step-by-step guide on a user-friendly interface accessible to organizations of any size, CISA said.

The agency added that ReadySetCyber’s streamlined format will make cybersecurity adoption a simple process regardless of an organization’s level of expertise and IT manpower.

CISA’s ReadySetCyber starts by baselining an organization’s current cybersecurity risks and offering actionable mitigation strategies, tools and resources. The regional CISA cybersecurity adviser will also be in direct contact with a subject organization, the agency said.

To develop ReadySetCyber, CISA started information collection in August from critical infrastructure organizations and state, local, tribal and territorial governments. The information gathering was voluntary and fully electronic to help develop customized cybersecurity solutions and services.
