New Task Force Seeks to Hasten Air Force Digital Transformation
The Department of the Air Force’s Air Force Materiel Command has organized a Digital Acceleration Task Force to hasten the DAF’s digital transformation, including the delivery of digital materiel management solutions.
According to the AFMC, the service units represented in the DATF include the DAF Digital Transformation Office, AFMC centers and program executive offices. With their combined capabilities, the task force will pinpoint and tackle the critical, near-term challenges in the DMM’s implementation, the AFMC said Friday.
The command has identified four focus areas for the DATF to close the gap between the DMM strategy and its full implementation.
One task force focus comes in identifying and deploying integrated digital environments to open secure data and model sharing within varying digital platforms and security levels.
The DATF will also initiate regular defense industry exchanges on DMM and digital transformation solutions and recommendations.
In addition, the task force will create a DMM playbook to identify best practices across processes and functional units.
