OPLA Selects Casepoint to Improve Internal Investigations, Litigation Function

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office of the Principal Legal Advisor has decided to integrate artificial intelligence into its internal investigations and litigation operations.

To enhance the office’s daily operations, OPLA has tapped Casepoint to provide its AI-powered Legal Hold and eDiscovery solution. The legal discovery technology solutions provider secured a multiyear contract to help with large-scale data migration from Relativity, the office’s existing discovery platform, to Casepoint’s FedRAMP-authorized cloud platform.

The use of the AI-powered solution offers several benefits, including advanced search and analysis, collaboration capabilities and support for uncommon file formats, Casepoint said.

Casepoint has been helping federal agencies improve their processes and technologies. The company’s eDiscovery was chosen by the Department of Veterans Affairs in October 2021 to assists its Office of General Counsel in processing, uploading and analyzing electronic data to meet court deadlines.

The eDiscovery solution gained “Moderate” level authorization from the Federal Risk and Authorization Program in 2020, allowing federal agencies to use it for litigation, compliance and Freedom of Information Act needs.
