NAVWAR Launches ODIN Offering to Support Application Development

The U.S. Naval Warfare Information Systems Command has launched a new offering designed to speed up application creation and improve automation.

The OneNAVWAR Digital Innovation Nexus is built on the Microsoft Power Platform suite of business development tools and supports the next generation of the Navy Information Superiority Vision. The offering is designed to provide a single solution for application development, ensure that users can access and share data solutions securely and remove redundancy in application development costs.

OneNAVWAR ODIN ensures that data made available to users is transparent, trustworthy, usable and conducive to informed decision-making, DVIDS reported Tuesday.

The Navy has been turning to data and other emerging technologies to improve its capabilities, such as maritime operations and cybersecurity.

Vice Adm. Craig Clapperton, head of the U.S. Fleet Cyber Command and the Navy’s 10th Fleet, said during the WEST 2024 conference that automation and data analytics help the service identify commonalities, activities happening across networks and anomalies that could affect operations. Clapperton also shared that the Navy ensures that technologies are paired with human operators to ensure that problems are solved holistically.

The Navy is also using the Department of Transportation’s SeaVision application to support data processing work. SeaVision is a maritime situational awareness tool that gives Navy components a way to gather information on vessels more easily.
