Army Extends Collaboration With BigBear.ai to Expand Development of Global Force Information Management System

An artificial intelligence-backed solutions provider is continuing its work of helping the Secretary of the Army’s plans of forming a data-centric force.

To ensure the success of the efforts, the U.S. Army has expanded its collaboration with artificial intelligence-powered decision intelligence solutions provider BigBear.ai, allowing it to continue as the prime contractor for the Global Force Information Management system.

The expanded collaboration will focus on improving the data layer, ensuring systems operate within a secure IL5/IL6 cARMY Cloud environment, BigBear.ai said.

The project has since seen progress in its first two phases, with 15 legacy systems transitioning to the enterprise intelligence automation platform. The second phase involved setting the groundwork for a modernized force structure system, and better understanding the complex requirements of the military branch.

BigBear.ai secured the initial contract in September 2022, partnering with Palantir Technologies to help the Army expand its competitive advantage with upgrades in force planning and readiness infrastructure.
