Space Force Partners With MSBAI, Princeton to Improve Immersive Space Mission Training

The U.S. Space Force is investing to improve immersive space flight mission training to meet future demands of space operations.

On Monday, the military branch awarded Air Force Techstars 2020 firm MSBAI and Princeton University a $1.25 million Phase 2 contract from SpaceWERX to develop the GURU autonomous system, enabling users to create training scenarios, build comprehensive visualizations and review past training scenarios, the Air Force Research Laboratory said.

MSBAI CEO Allan Grosvenor said the team is proud to be part of an initiative helping hyper-enabling trainers, analysts and operators accelerate the creation of mission design and analysis tools.

The SpaceWERX program, based on the Air Force’s AFWERX initiative, aims to help startup companies develop technologies that could help with the Space Force’s mission. The program is building new processes and technologies in close collaboration with space operators and professionals in the Space and Missile Systems Center.

Since its launch in 2020, it has been involved in advancing innovations in space technology. In July, it hosted a workshop to accelerate the development of orbital defense capabilities by collaborating with experts in the commercial sector.
