Transportation Department Agency to Use WidePoint’s Identity Management Solution
Fairfax, Virginia-based cybersecurity firm WidePoint Corporation will provide its identity and access management solution to an unnamed agency of the Department of Transportation under a three-year, $1.7 million contract.
The contract will also include full operations and maintenance services related to WidePoint’s quantum-resistant identity management solution. Certificates and support services that the DOT agency needs to secure its identity, devices, systems and infrastructure are covered by the contract, WidePoint said.
According to WidePoint’s president and CEO, Jin Kang, the contract proves how the company’s investment in hybrid issuance “is beginning to bear fruit.”
WidePoint’s managed solutions services portfolio also includes telecommunications and managed mobility services, analytics and billing as a service, and IT as a service.
During the company’s Aug. 15 earnings call, Kang said one of WidePoint’s bigger programs is the intelligent technology management system, which is expected to achieve FedRAMP approval by the end of 2023.
Kang also noted that over 80 contract actions across WidePoint’s business units during the 2023 second quarter totaled $46 million worth.
