Tyto Athene Signs Agreement to Acquire AT&T Government Solutions
Tyto Athene, a full-service systems integrator based in Herndon, Virginia, has signed a definitive agreement to purchase AT&T Government Solutions.
The acquisition includes the purchase of AT&T’s Department of Defense information and technology professional services business and the takeover of a select number of contracts.
The combination would create a leading pure-play provider of IT professional services and solutions that caters to U.S. government customers, Tyto Athene said.
Following the closing of the acquisition, Tyto Athene expects to be better equipped to address the requirements of technology-enabled digital transformation and joint all-domain operations.
“The incremental IDIQ contract vehicles that will convey with GSI, such as Alliant 2, RS3, ITES-3S, Seaport-NxG, and MEGASTAR, will provide us new ways to contract with our customers,” according to Chris Meilhammer, president and chief operating officer of Tyto Athene.
Meilhammer said he looks forward to teaming with AT&T to pursue opportunities with defense clients. He believes that the company is in a good position to benefit from the U.S. government’s investment in legacy IT modernization and cybersecurity efforts.
Likewise, AT&T Business CEO Anne Chow welcomed the opportunity to work with Tyto Athene. She said the divestiture aligns with the company’s strategy to support and serve public sector customers with industry leading networking solutions.
While terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the acquisition is expected to be completed at the end of the first quarter or early in the second quarter.
