Customs & Border Protection Conducts Market Research for Automated Commercial Environment IT Platform
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking information on the availability of commercial technologies for the Automated Commercial Environment 2.0 program.
CBP is looking for technologies that would help fulfill several mission requirements, including sharing data between internal CBP systems and other federal agencies, obtaining supply-chain visibility from product manufacturers and identifying anomalous trade patterns, according to a notice posted on SAM .gov.
The winning bidder will be working with the agency’s Office of Trade, CBP’s unit responsible for responding and identifying predatory trade practices.
The request for information comes after CBP conducted market research in June to identify a contractor to provide support services to the Office of Trade, where the winning bidder will work on modernizing its trade policy program by creating a platform for data analytics.
The CBP has been working to modernize its information technology system. In July, the agency released its IT strategy for 2023 to 2027 plan, laying down a zero trust cybersecurity model to enhance the security and end-user experience.
