US Navy Awards GDIT $383M Contract for Simulation Training Services

General Dynamics Information Technology has received a potential five-year, $383 million U.S. Navy contract for simulation and classroom training support. GDIT is expected to provide instructors, curriculum development, training aids and other services to U.S. and allied sailors.

Brian Sheridan, senior vice president for defense at GDIT, noted his company’s three decades of support for Navy training activities and affirmed that work will continue to enhance warfighting readiness and fleet operations.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division awarded the contract on behalf of Surface Combat Systems Training Command, a Navy training organization that supports allied warfighters to promote interoperability, GDIT said.

Recently, the company received a potential 12-year, $1.7 billion contract to continue providing a U.S. Army flight school with live, virtual and constructive environments and multidomain operations training. Work is expected to involve maintenance and upgrades for flight simulators.

GDIT President Amy Gilliland, a 4×24 member and 2023 Wash100 awardee, noted that her company has provided the Army with more than one million hours of simulation training.
