US to Lead International Community on Secure Delivery of Digital Government Services

Several government officials agree that the U.S. will play a vital role in promoting the secure delivery of digital public services.

Nani Coloretti, deputy director at the Office of Management and Budget, said that with the nation being the model for responsible AI use, it needs to foster international collaboration to enable itself and its allies to see enhanced digital government services.

Hosted by the OMB, the National Security Council and other federal agencies, a recent meeting of government leaders from various countries focused on improving the delivery of digital government services to the public. The meeting saw the participation of agency leaders, including Federal Chief Information Officer Clare Mortorana and General Services Administration Technology Transformation Services Director Ann Lewis, the White House said.

For years, the private sector has been advocating for the adoption of digital services to improve public service. In 2023, a Carashsoft official said that the federal government’s adoption of digital signature technology would reduce transaction times, eliminating the need to be onsite to sign a document.
