USDS to Boost Digital Modernization Partnerships With Federal Agencies, Government Tech Organizations

The U.S. Digital Service will establish stronger partnerships with government tech organizations, including the Technology Transformation Services, the Technology Modernization Fund and the Office of the Federal Chief Information Officer, to help with resource allocation and achieve objectives under its 2024 strategic plan.

USDS Administrator Mina Hsiang said the agency will pilot new types of digital projects, continue digital modernization collaboration with other agencies such as the Department of Health and Human Services and the Social Security Administration, and help government entities build their capacity to acquire tech talent, FedScoop reported.

Helping agencies redesign their websites is one of the ways USDS supports its digital modernization initiatives. Hsiang said the web redesign effort at SSA resulted in improved customer experiences and a 10 percent increase in task completion rate.

The White House launched USDS in 2014 to provide federal agencies with IT and technology consultation services to help them remove barriers to delivering government services to the public by improving and simplifying digital infrastructure and experiences.
