VA Seeks Sources of Product Assurance, Automation Services
The Department of Veterans Affairs Technology Acquisition Center is looking for a contractor that can provide product assurance and automation support services.
Work will be done under the terms of a firm-fixed-price and time-and-materials task order awarded through the Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology-Next Generation contract vehicle, VA said in a performance work statement posted on SAM .gov. The deal will have a 12-month base period of performance and four 12-month option periods.
The contractor will support VA’s Office of Information and Technology Enterprise Program Management Office, which is responsible for developing and maintaining information technology products in the department.
As part of EPMO’s product assurance program, the contractor will help establish pipelines for laboratory learning, software factory testing and VA customer support.
The program will help mature capabilities in product management, software configuration management, DevSecOps and automation, the department added.
DevSecOps is the concept of incorporating security into the DevOps process, a software development and IT operations philosophy aimed at shortening development time while maintaining high quality.
EPMO also needs program-level configuration management support, which will involve integrating automation pathways throughout the continuous integration and continuous delivery process.
The contractor will provide a configuration management strategy that includes an analysis of current automation, traceability and reporting functions.
VA said it needs the contractor to submit a detailed project management plan that includes schedules, milestones, risks and required resource support.
The contractor is expected to supply a qualified technical project manager, a senior systems architect for configuration management and a DevOps developer specialized in systems engineering and automation.
