VTG to Produce CANES Information Warfare Platform Under Potential $4.1B Navy Contract

The Department of the Navy has awarded Chantilly, Virginia-based force modernization and digital transformation company VTG a spot on the potential 10-year, $4.1 billion Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services contract.

CANES is the Navy’s program of record to consolidate shipborne and submarine C4ISR networks and infrastructure. It provides a secure tactical afloat network for joint and naval applications and uses a common computing environment and cross-domain technologies to make C4ISR missions more efficient.

John Hassoun, president and CEO of VTG, noted that previously, his company had installed and integrated the CANES information warfare platform aboard various naval vessels. Under the contract, VTG will produce the platform instead.

The CANES contract was awarded by the Program Executive Officer C4I and the Tactical Networks Program Office, VTG said.
