VTG to Provide Infrastructure-as-a-Service Upgrades to Navy’s Aegis Combat System

VTG announced that it has secured a $40 million task order to support the U.S. Navy’s Aegis Combat System.

Under the task order, VTG will install and integrate Technical Insertion 16 infrastructure-as-a-service equipment and provide engineering services and logistics support. The company will also deliver manufacturing, assembly and testing services.

Work will be performed through VTG’s TI16 prime contract with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division. The TI16 program is the Navy’s approach to modernizing its surface fleet’s combat systems, VTG said.

The company is also working with the Navy through the potential 10-year, $4.1 billion Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services contract. CANES is a Navy program of record to consolidate shipborne and submarine C4ISR networks and infrastructure and to provide a secure tactical network for joint and naval applications.

The company has a long-standing relationship with the Navy on modernization efforts. In 2021, the Navy selected VTG as a prime contractor to provide engineering services in support of the service’s hypersonic strike capability.
