WidePoint’s TM2 Platform Achieves FedRAMP Ready Status
Virginia-headquartered WidePoint Corporation, a provider of technology-based products and services to the government sector, announced that its proprietary Intelligent Telecommunications Management System platform has achieved FedRAMP Ready Status. Being conferred the “Ready Status” is a strong indicator of success for full FedRAMP authorization and means that its Readiness Assessment Report has received government approval, WidePoint said Monday.
With this higher certification, WidePoint is now listed on the FedRAMP Marketplace as a FedRAMP Ready vendor. On the road to its current status, WidePoint said it was assessed for critical controls such as the use of approved cryptographic modules, continuous monitoring capabilities, authentication, authorization and access controls, and configuration and risk management.
In a statement, Jin Kang, WidePoint’s CEO, said that his company will be pursuing full authorization by the end of 2022, which, if successful, will open the doors for winning more government clients.
For his part, Todd Dzyak, president of WidePoint Integrated Solutions, said that FedRAMP certification is considered to be the hardest to achieve due to the large scope of controls, documentation requirements, required third-party assessment organization review as well as authorization by a government authority.
FedRAMP is a U.S. government program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services, WidePoint added.
WidePoint specializes in providing solutions for Identity management, telecommunications lifecycle management, digital billing & analytics and IT as a Service. In Dec. 2020, the company was selected to continue providing commercial cellular wireless managed services to the Department of Homeland Security under a follow-on contract worth potentially $500 million over five years.
