New tools for patients
US Military Health Care Centers Pilot New Interactive Platform
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio announced that its medical center has been chosen as one of the five U.S. military health care facilities that will test the digital tools of the new My Military Health platform.
The interactive solution was unveiled in February by U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Telita Crosland, Defense Health Agency director and a 2024 Wash100 award winner, at the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States’ annual meeting. The learnings from the pilot will be applied to expand the new DHA system to U.S. military health care facilities worldwide starting 2025, AF .mil reported.
My Military Health is designed to give patients quicker and more convenient access to care and their health data through innovative methods. Its features include SilverCloud, which offers self-help, on-demand wellness tools through a smartphone, tablet or computer. The health needs it addresses are wide-ranging, including stress management, anxiety, depression and relationships.
Col. Dale Harrell, 88th Medical Group commander at Wright-Patterson AFB, said My Military Health seeks ways to improve the experience both for patients and health care providers. The system is “expanding all options,” whether creating an appointment or receiving care virtually or in person, Harrell added.
The other military health care facilities participating in the pilot are Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Moore, Georgia; Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia; Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida; and Eglin Air Force Base Hospital, 96th Medical Group, Florida.
