Noblis Secures Prime Position on JAIC’s Test and Evaluation BPA
The Joint Artificial Intelligence Center has awarded science and technology services provider Noblis a prime position on a five-year blanket purchase agreement for test and evaluation services.
Noblis will deploy a team to carry out work that will ensure that the software of JAIC customers adheres to the Department of Defense’s AI ethical principles.
The Noblis team includes model validation company CalypsoAI and software engineering company i3. The team has over three decades of experience in working with the DOD, the Intelligence Community and other homeland security and law enforcement agencies, Noblis said Monday.
JAIC developed the Pentagon’s AI principles to ensure that solutions and platforms will uphold legal, ethical and policy-based commitments. The AI principles require applications to be responsible, equitable, traceable, reliable and governable.
The AI guidance was adopted in February 2020 following recommendations from the Defense Innovation Board. It applies to both combat and non-combat functions and is designed to assist the U.S. military in addressing gaps and risks associated with the use of AI.
Noblis is a nonprofit corporation that offers support services for analytics, machine learning, C5ISR, identity intelligence and life sciences to civil, defense, homeland security, intelligence and law enforcement agencies. It is headquartered in Reston, Virginia, and has multiple offices within the U.S.
