NSWC Crane Seeking Silent Swarm 2024 Participants

Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division is calling on industry, academia and government agencies to join the Silent Swarm event to demonstrate early-stage unmanned systems with the capability to launch electromagnetic attacks and deception and perform digital payload delivery in multidomain environments.

NSWC Crane is interested in technologies in the Technology Readiness Level 2 to 5 range. According to a request for submission posted on SAM.gov, proposed technologies must be able to perform distributed delivery of electromagnetic energy to deny, degrade, disrupt and deceive an adversary’s capabilities, including situational awareness, command and control and decision-making processes, Breaking Defense reported.

Silent Swarm, designed for rapid technology exploration and innovation, will take place in July 2024. The two-week event will provide an opportunity for teaming and obtaining feedback from technical and operational small and midsize enterprises. It will end with a series of vignettes, where technology initiatives operate together in teams to demonstrate objectives in different domains, including land, air, sea, undersea, cyber, and space, according to the solicitation.

Responses to the notice are due Oct. 16. Selected participants are expected to attend virtual and in-person planning workshops from Nov. 14 to 16.
