Parsons CEO Chuck Harrington Joins QL Plus Board of Directors
Parsons announced that its CEO, Chuck Harrington, a 2020 Wash100 winner, has been appointed to the board of directors of Quality of Life Plus, a nonprofit education organization that serves disadvantaged groups and veterans.
Harrington's experience and leadership will help QL Plus deliver science, technology, engineering and mathematics solutions to veterans and first responders, Parsons said Monday.
"Like Parsons, QL Plus is on a quest to deliver a better world to our nation's veterans and warfighters whose sacrifice and service allow for the freedom and security Americans experience every day. I'm energized to support such a mission-focused organization and look forward to helping them improve the lives of our nation's heroes," Harrington said.
Harrington has been with Parsons since 1982 and has held technical and project management duties on classified government projects.
He later founded and led Parsons' business in the sectors for biotechnology, semiconductor and telecommunications industries. Harrington became chief financial officer in 2006 and was named CEO in 2008.
QL Plus founder Jon Monett credited Harrington with leading Parsons through key milestones while maintaining high standards and a commitment to excellence.
"He is a successful leader who will be an important teammate to expand QL+'s impact, visibility, and service to America's heroes," Monett said.
Harrington earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from California Polytechnic State University and a master's degree in business administration from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
He also attended the advanced management program at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and received an honorary doctorate in engineering from California Polytechnic State University.
