Patricia Martone Carrolo, GM of Global Health Care and Life Sciences at IBM

Patricia Martone Carrolo is the general manager of global health care and life sciences at technology solutions company IBM. She has been with the company for over 19 years.

As GM, Carrolo oversees the company’s $4.5 billion global health care and life sciences industry. She is responsible for delivering customer success and profitability across the company and supports digital transformation and AI and hybrid cloud scaling, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Carrolo was the vice president of the travel and transportation industry at IBM Global Markets before holding her current leadership role. In this capacity, she led initiatives that used AI and quantum technology to accelerate hybrid cloud transformation.

Other leadership roles that the industry veteran held at IBM are the director of health care industry at IBM Global Markets, public sector director at IBM Watson and global competitive leader at IBM General Business.

She was a product manager at HP Medical Products Group before joining IBM. HP Medical Products Group was acquired by Philips Healthcare in 2001.

Carrolo holds a master’s degree in business administration and management from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic University.
