StackArmor Announces Support for Use of Cloud Computing for Health Care Research

Cloud, security and compliance acceleration solution provider stackArmor has disclosed support for the research work of Paul Avillach on the use of cloud computing for health care research.

Avillach, a multiple principal investigator at the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity program, collaborated with Amazon Web Services to develop the Service Workbench on AWS, utilizing stackArmor’s ThreatAlert ATO Accelerator.

The AIM-AHEAD Service Workbench is a FISMA Moderate Authority to Operate-compliant self-service AI platform that allows anyone to contribute valuable medical research by using an AI-enabled, internet-accessible and simple web application, stackArmor said.

The National Institutes of Health’s AIM-AHEAD was born out of the Biden administration executive order on AI, which includes a provision promoting the innovative use of the technology in advancing medical discoveries.

In October 2023, the White House released EO 14110 to ensure that the United States leads the world in developing and managing the risks associated with AI. It laid out plans to develop standards for AI safety and security and ways to take advantage of the technology to promote equity and civil rights.
