Randy Thomas, Director of the Digital Transformation Office at Lockheed Martin
Randy Thomas is the director of Lockheed Martin’s Digital Transformation Office. He has been serving the security and aerospace company for nearly two decades.
Thomas, a Potomac Officers Club member, joined Lockheed in September 2003 as senior manager for business development. He took on the roles of senior program manager, director and executive vice president before being appointed to his current position in February 2019. Prior to joining Lockheed, the executive was the director of product marketing at Teranex Systems, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Thomas, who holds a master’s degree in finance from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College, is an experienced digital transformation director and entrepreneur with a demonstrated history in the defense and space and software industries. He specializes in program and product management, strategy and business development and new business capture management.
Thomas supports Lockheed’s ongoing digital and business process transformation effort, called LM1, aimed at embracing new innovations and forming partnerships to deliver the speed, agility and insights its customers need to stay ahead of threats.
Recently, Lockheed expanded its strategic relationship with Microsoft to advance the development of technology for the Department of Defense. Under the partnership, the companies will work on improving artificial intelligence, machine learning, modeling and simulation capabilities and developing advanced networking and secure 5G capabilities at the tactical edge.
As part of the collaboration, Microsoft Azure will support Lockheed Martin in achieving its digital transformation goals, including increasing productivity gains and creating the next generation of defense technologies.
