Robert Acker, NGA and Geospatial Markets Business Development Lead at Leidos
Robert Acker, a Potomac Officers Club member, is the geospatial and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency markets business development lead official for the science and technology company Leidos.
Acker oversees Leidos’ pipeline development, opportunity identification and capture leadership for geospatial- and NGA-related efforts. He specializes in program management, value management, government contracting and other government-related management roles.
Acker has held his current role since 2016. Before working in this current capacity, he was the director of business development for the company’s NGA, Defense Intelligence Agency and U.S. Army C4ISR market, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Before joining Leidos, he handled business development leadership roles at Leonardo DRS. He was the vice president of business development for Leonardo’s Aviation, Communication and Homeland Security business and the VP of business development for the company’s Tactical Communications & Network Services segment.
Acker also held directorship roles at Lockheed Martin. He was the director of programs for Lockheed from 1996 to 2004 and a business development director at Lockheed’s Information Systems & Global Solutions businesses from 2005 to 2010. Leidos acquired Lockheed IS&GS in 2016.
Acker holds a master’s degree in information technology and a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
