SAIC Eyes Improved Secure Cloud Offerings Through AWS Partnership

Amazon Web Services has agreed to provide expertise and services to enhance public-sector usage of Virginia-based Science Applications International Corp.’s secure cloud solutions on GovCloud environments.

SAIC CEO Nazzic Keene, a 4×24 member, said the collaboration affords her company the resources to expand a team developing secure cloud migration and edge capabilities for customers. Keene added that the deal represents a “natural evolution” in an ongoing relationship with AWS and empowers government agencies to use emerging technologies.

According to a press release, the collaboration also supports customers’ modernization efforts by facilitating the migration of specialized workloads into their AWS environments. Dave Levy, vice president of U.S. federal at AWS Worldwide Public Sector and another 4×24 member, explained that joint efforts with SAIC will produce solutions to drive government agencies’ decision-making.

SAIC noted that the collaboration will use CloudScend migration tools to increase operational efficiencies and security while driving costs down. Working with AWS will also develop the Zero Trust Accelerator, a solution to deliver cloud capabilities in denied, disrupted, intermittent and limited environments, SAIC said.
