SAIC to Support 414th Squadron’s Minuteman Under $79M Task

Science Applications International Corporation has received a $79M Air Force task order to provide mission engineering services to the 414th Supply Chain Management Squadron's Intercontinental Ballistic Missile LGM-30 Minuteman III missile system.

Michael LaRouche, executive vice president and general manager of SAIC's national security group and a Potomac Officers Club member, said the company's solutions will enhance the readiness of the critical 414th mission, SAIC said Tuesday.

“As part of this new task order, SAIC will partner with the squadron to advance its mission by providing end-to-end product support and sustainment solutions using technologies like model-based systems engineering to reduce risk and optimize the Air Force supply chain,” LaRouche said.

The task order is a five-year deal that the Air Force awarded under the Information Analysis Center Multiple Award Contract.

Under the terms of the contract, SAIC will perform analyses and help make the missile system more reliable, easier to maintain and interoperable with other systems.

SAIC will also address sustainability, lifecycle management, failure testing and manufacturing sourcing of associated equipment.

The 414th provides lifecycle support services such as the development of enterprise demand-supply plans, implementation of sourcing strategies, execution of supply plans and execution of cognizant authority.

The deal also covers the Minuteman's associated launch systems, peacekeeper and future global strike missile systems, as well as weapons trainers, support equipment, support for command and control and other systems worldwide.

SAIC is a premier technology integrator that boasts an extensive portfolio of offerings across the defense, space, civilian and intelligence markets. It provides solutions in engineering, information technology modernization and mission solutions, among others.
