Salesforce Government Cloud Plus Earns FedRAMP Provisional ATO

Salesforce has announced that its cloud instance, called Government Cloud Plus, which runs on Amazon Web Services’ GovCloud platform, has received a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program provisional authority to operate at the High Security Impact Level. The operational clearance allows Salesforce customers to deploy the company’s Customer 360 customer relationship management platform and industry solutions in a compliant and secure environment.

Teresa Carlson, vice president of the worldwide public sector at AWS and a 2020 Wash100 winner, noted that Government Cloud Plus provides enhanced security and compliance controls to facilitate mission success across critical public sectors, Salesforce said Tuesday.

In addition, features provided by AWS GovCloud enable Government Cloud Plus users to rely on Salesforce to address the most sensitive, unclassified data. Government Cloud Plus customers can also leverage the continuous monitoring services provided by the FedRAMP Joint Authorization Board to keep track of security changes to the system.

Salesforce provides an easy and cost-efficient approach to addressing customer needs related to workforce management and development, recruiting and talent management, health and social services, case management, licensing and permitting by delivering CRM, service, platform, analytics and industry solutions.

According to Dave Rey, president of the global public sector at Salesforce, Government Cloud Plus empowers governments to address customer demand all while providing modern, compliant and secure customer service. Rey, a two-time Wash100 winner and a member of the Potomac Officers Club, also acknowledged the ability of Government Cloud Plus to scale governments’ mission impact and accelerate digital transformation.
