Kadena AB Demonstrates Agile Combat Employment During Senior USAF Officials’ Visit
Senior U.S. Air Force officials, led by Secretary Frank Kendall, a 2024 Wash100 winner and a past Potomac Officers Club event speaker, observed the Agile Combat Employment capability of Kadena Air Base during a visit to the Okinawa military facility on April 6.
The visitors, including Chief of Staff Gen. David Allvin and Chief Master Sgt. David Flosi, also discussed key base issues and recognized the performance of the Kadena AB service members, Air Force .mil reported Monday.
Allvin said he was inspired after witnessing firsthand how the Kadena AB team demonstrates air superiority – from aerial refueling to airborne warning and control and search and rescue. He added that more will be demanded from the Air and Space Forces in future warfighting.
During the officials’ visit, Kadena AB, the largest U.S. military installation in the Indo-Pacific, also showcased its evolving capabilities and the modern infrastructure needed for future missions.
Expanding U.S. Space Force presence in the Indo-Pacific is veering toward the Kadena AB’s Japan location, Gen. Chance Saltzman, chief of space operations, said during his visit to Tokyo in September.
