Serco Names Percipient .ai CEO Balan Ayyar to Director Board
Professional and management services company Serco has announced that retired U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Balan Ayyar will join its board of directors.
Ayyar is the CEO and founder of artificial intelligence and machine learning company Percipient .ai, where he has shown “visionary leadership” and dedication to developing new technology to support national security missions, Serco said.
He is expected to contribute to Serco’s strategic direction by utilizing his experience with artificial intelligence and national security experience.
Serco CEO Tom Watson, a 4×24 member, described Ayyar as an “outstanding addition” due to his military and entrepreneurial background.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Ayyar served as CEO of Sevatec before establishing Percipient .ai. He joined Sevatec as chief operating officer in 2014.
Before retiring from the Air Force, Ayyar was the commanding general of the Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435 in Kabul. He previously served as military assistant to the secretary of defense.
