Serco Receives Triumph Award for Prioritizing Veteran Recruitment

Serco was feted with the Triumph Award at the recent V3 Awards Luncheon in Virginia, recognizing the company’s hiring process that prioritizes veteran and military applicants

“Celebrating our veterans, recognizing their incredible service to our country and embracing their contributions to our workplace is part of our culture, our brand and who we are,” said Tom Watson, Serco’s CEO and a 4×24 member.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who presented the award, also commended other certified companies under the Virginia Values Veterans program for recruiting and retaining Virginia veterans and military spouses, Serco said.

The Triumph Award was attributed to Serco’s hiring outreach plan in support of military transition efforts and its development of veteran-friendly hiring practices, including using military terminology in job ads and highlighting career opportunities for veterans on the company’s social media channels.

Serco also established an employee-led resource group called SercoVets, which provides a forum for veterans and military spouses focused on transition support, professional development, mentorship and networking opportunities.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized by Governor Youngkin for Serco’s efforts to bring veterans and military applicants to our growing team,” Watson said.
