Sintavia Secures DOD Contract for Hypersonic Propulsion Development
The Department of Defense has awarded Sintavia a contract to develop components for hypersonic propulsion systems using additive manufacturing.
The contract award is part of the DOD’s Growing Additive Manufacturing Maturity for Airbreathing Hypersonics project, a program focused on advancing additive manufacturing for hypersonic applications, Sintavia said.
Under the contract, the Florida-based company will establish quality and operational procedures for designing and manufacturing components essential for hypersonic flight, aiming to contribute to the broader hypersonics industry.
The GAMMA-H project, launched in October 2023 with a budget of $106.7 million, is a collaborative effort between the Office of the Secretary of Defense, ManTech International and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division.
Sintavia founder and CEO Brian Neff highlighted the importance of the GAMMA-H award in establishing standard additive manufacturing processes for hypersonic production. Sintavia is also involved in several other initiatives funded by the project.
The contract is expected to conclude by 2025.
