Soraya Correa to Lead NCMA’s Contract Management Institute as Executive Director
The National Contract Management Association has tapped Soraya Correa, a speaker at a past Potomac Officers Club event, to serve as the Contract Management Institute’s executive director. She is expected to lead the reinstatement of the organization, which serves as an information repository for contract management professionals.
Commenting on her new appointment, Correa said she would work with the public and private sectors, academia and other segments to advance contract management. She emphasized the subject’s importance to mission and business success and affirmed that she would provide professionals with the resources they need.
Correa retired as the Department of Homeland Security’s chief procurement officer in 2021. During her time at DHS, she led the establishment of initiatives such as the Procurement Innovation Lab, an environment for testing acquisition models that has inspired a similar effort at NASA, FCW reported.
In 2022, Correa joined the board of advisers at Brillient, a digital transformation company based in Reston, Virginia.
