SOSi Becomes Exclusive Reseller of AppleTek Products
SOS International announced that it has purchased a stake in Applications Technology, a company that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to create automatic speech recognition and machine translation technologies.
Under the agreement, SOSi became the exclusive reseller of AppTek products to federal, state and local government customers, SOSi said Wednesday.
“With technology, there’s often a huge difference between being first to market and being the best in the market, SOSi Chief Operating Officer John Avalos said.
"With the AppTek deal, we aim to be both in a market that has a long way to go before it realizes the full potential of the latest speech technology,” Avalos, a Potomac Officers Club member, added.
SOSi CEO and President Julian Setian, a 2020 Wash100 winner, will become part of AppTek's board of directors as part of the deal.
"As our customers’ appetites for AI-driven solutions have increased, this is the latest of a series of investments we’re making in market-leading commercial technologies that will disrupt the market and advance the mission capabilities of our customers,” said SOSi CEO and President Julian Setian, a 2020 Wash100 winner.
AppTek CEO Mudar Yaghi said the company will continue developing and delivering AI and machine learning technologies that are easily accessible and cost-effective.
“Given its history, SOSi is the perfect partner to help the federal government adopt the latest speech recognition and machine translation technology innovations," Yaghi said.
In its press release, SOSi said it has been one of the largest providers of foreign language solutions and services to the U.S. government and military since 2001.
AppleTek is a premier AI and machine learning integrator that specializes in neural machine learning, automatic speech recognition and natural language processing technologies.
