J6 Chief Operating Officer
LTC Tim Lawrence is the current J63/Director of Operations for the Joint Special Operations Command J6. Since July 2022, he has led the Command’s global networks providing multiple classifications of data and collaborative services across JSOC’s unique C5I infrastructure in support of threats to protect the Homeland and U.S. interests abroad. LTC Lawrence previously served as the RS6 (CIO) for the 75th Ranger Regiment where he deployed twice and was overall responsible for Task Force’s IT infrastructure decommissioning for the retrograde of Afghanistan. During his tenure as RS6, the Regiment scaled its Tactical Mission Network providing Rangers an unprecedented level of lethality, situational awareness, and C2 across ground and air elements. Additionally, LTC Lawrence has served as the Forward J6 for Special Operations Command – Central in Al Udeid, Qatar, Director of the US Army Signal Captains Career Course at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia, S3 and XO for the 63rd Signal Battalion in Fort Stewart, Georgia, and a Joint Comms officer in the Joint Staff J6. Tim is a native of NE Arkansas, and holds a Masters in IT and Project Management. Tim and his wife Amanda have 4 kids, 3 dogs, 2 cats, and live in Pinehurst, NC.
